A Simply Fluffy Friday

No serious talk for today. Just fluff.

(Fluff being all thinks fun and cute- like bunnies and puppies and kittens.)

Sometimes it’s nice to not think so much and just “go with the flow.” And my “flow” is telling me that this Friday post should be fluffy. Is that alright with you? 🙂

Week-In-Review-Button-Final

For today’s fluffy fun stuff I’m going to start off with a review of my past week courtesy of Meghan’s Week in Review (Which I now affectionately refer to as WIR):

  • Last weekend I made a few delicious things for my family. I posted two of the recipes on my WIAW post- Candy Pizza and Grain-Free Pear Crisp. Both have allergy-free and healthy options so that basically anyone can have them!

  • On Saturday I made a meal from Clean Food, Creative Fitness entitled The Easiest Bowl of Gluten-Free Pasta You’ll Ever Make. This recipe is super versatile and so EASY (hence the title). I used zucchini and mushrooms for the “pasta,” homemade pizza sauce (like in this recipe) for the tomato paste, and topped it all with some skillet-cooked grass-fed ground beef with some sauteed onions and peppers. My parents loved it. Thanks Danielle!

  • Also on Saturday I attended a baby shower for an old high school friend who I hadn’t seen in about a year. It was a lot of fun and I got to hang out with both the mother-to-be as well as two of my other really close friends. Here is the present that I brought to the baby shower: A caterpillar bag

  • With the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar to match!

  • And here is my favorite decoration from the shower: Flower Cupcake Bouquets! My friend’s sister and mom had to stay up really late to make them but I think they turned out wonderful.

  • On Sunday I baked a batch of my 3 Ingredient Nut Butter cookies that I posted on Eating 4 Balance awhile back. This time I used sunbutter in place of the nut butter, which would be perfect for anyone with nut allergies.

  • Tuesday I uploaded a short post that I was very sad to write.

  • Wednesday was much more upbeat with WIAW!

  • Also on Wednesday night I attended a fancy Accounting Banquet with my parents, and got all dressed up. (Note: Savor this moment because it is highly unlikely that you will see me in a skirt ever again).

  • As far as school goes, I’ve been rather busy, so if I seemed a little delayed in responding to comments and commenting on your posts, that would be why. Big Access assignment due on Wednesday. Statistics homework, Business Oral-B Toothbrush presentation and E-mail Privacy Policy report due Thursday.

  • My Friday is going to be pretty relaxed as one of my teachers cancelled class on account of us having not much left to do. I’m going to be hanging out at school a little longer than usual and Friday afternoon my family is making the two hour drive up here to pick me up, and then we are continuing north to spend the night at a hotel in the city where I’m going o be having my internship.

  • Then on Saturday we’re going to look at apartments and *hopefully* get a sublet arrangement worked out so that I have somewhere to live for the summer!

Totally random, but speaking of all things fun and fluffy, here are my favorite animal pins from this week:

Enjoy your Friday everyone!

And tell me… What was the highlight of your week? And, what is your favorite animal pin of the week? (Link them up!)

  1. Dang darling, you enjoyed lots of good food this past week! Have fun with your family this weekend and good luck apartment hunting ❤

  2. I love memes of animals. And I hope you find a nice apartment! It’s so hard to find cheap places these days. The trouble I had finding one was awful and I’ve got to do it again soon.

    • I managed to find a really nice apartment for a steal of a price. A full 200 dollars lower actually than most of the other ones I saw, plus it’s a lot bigger!

Good luck when you have to go search for one again 🙂

  3. Looks like a fun and tasty week in your neck of the woods 🙂 can’t wait to try this candy pizza!! Have a wonderful time with your family and good luck with the apartment hunting!! Fingers crossed you find something great 🙂

  4. I love your outfit in the photo, so pretty. The colours go so well together!
And wow those cupcakes are amazing!! I wish I could do something like that but I can barely bake a regular cupcake let alone a crazy flower one! You friend’s sister and mum are so talented!
    Have a lovely weekend 🙂

    • Thanks Anna 🙂

I really love baking but I have to admit that when it comes to frosting things I’m less than motivated. Haha. Cupcakes are just so gosh dang hard to look pretty! Cookies are a little easier in my opinion, but still, I would never have been able to decorate cupcakes like those in the flower bouquets!

      Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

    • Well thanks for the compliment Shreya. Just made my day 🙂

Those cupcakes had some really interesting flavors, and you can’t tell from the outside, but they all had a surprise filling! 🙂 I heard they were amazing.

    • When I was shopping I looked for some type of baby robe because I remembered seeing that one on your blog, and I remember how much the moms loved them at previous baby showers, but I was out of luck. 😦 The caterpillar blanket is a close second though!

    • Haha. Thanks Jessie. It’s not that I don’t like them, but I just feel so high maintenance in them and I’m always worried I’m going to have a Marilyn Monroe moment only not quite so glamorous 😛

    • Oh, and Clean Food Creative Fitness’s gluten-free pasta recipe was so easy you should definitely try it out if you are ever looking to use up some leftover veggies. The parents scarfed it down.

  5. Everything in this post looks so good, I may have scrolled through the pictures multiple times. Candy pizza – YUM! Also I love the presents you bought for the baby shower, so adorable. The book is amazing. I haven’t seen cupcake bouquets either but they look too pretty to eat. Almost! Have a great weekend!

  6. That’s what I like about the WIR; it can be fluffy and fun and it also makes you feel like, Damn, I did all that. You were super busy and by the sounds of it, still are with school. Good luck.

You do clean up really nice though so maybe you’ll be in skirt again someday. Maybe at the internship? Speaking of which, are you getting nervous or excited now that’s getting closer? Or maybe a little of both?

Last, your caterpillar themed gift is adorable and the cupcake bouquet is pretty genius. I actually have a baby shower to attend today, although I’d much rather be working in the yard.

One more thing (I know I already said last..(Oops)), I love the animal pins. They are super cute and funny. I like the bunny hiding out with the kitties or the two little Ewoks. They were always my favorite in the Star Wars movies.

    • WIR is a great confidence booster, especially on the weeks where I feel like I’ve been at 0% productivity. Yep, still busy this week and some of next with school, but then I have a full two weeks (well, 13 days…) until real life starts back up and I head up north to my internship.

Speaking of internship… Yes, both nervous and excited. Nervous in that I hope I’m not in way over my head with everything that I have to learn, but excited because it’s something new.

Hope you had fun at the baby shower you went to. Play any fun games?

The Ewoks were so cute! Didn’t they have their own little spin off movies too?

      • Man on man, am I behind on my reading.
The shower was good; there was a couple of games: bingo with the gifts and a word scramble that come to think of it was never officially solved. Humph.
You have a good memory; the spinoff was The Battle for Endor, and I liked that movie more than all the Star Wars movies combined when I was little. I have since seen the movie as an adult, and the quality is horrible, but I still have fond memories.
I hope you’re having a great weekend. Now onto to reading your blog from this week…
