What Other People Ate (WIAW)

Well, it’s official guys- I’m moved into my new apartment for the summer! I started my job on Monday and now I’m two days down.

Right now I’m just mentally drained though and it’s kind of hard to put coherent lines of thought together much less actually stay awake past 9:00 PM (I’ve already dosed off twice tonight. Bedtime is just around the corner…).

It has already been far too long since I posted something on here though (four or five days I think? The horror! πŸ˜‰ ).

I figured what could be easier than some good old fashioned link-ups with two of my favorite bloggers? That’s right: another two for one special with Peas and Crayons and Jessie Bear What Will You Wear. A mash-up of WIAW and Together Tuesdays (because it is completely possible for Tuesdays and Wednesdays to occur on the same day in the blog world).

  1. I’m really loving this take on WIAW πŸ™‚ Those coconut chicken nuggets sound amazing, and I wouldn’t mind following ’em up with a big spoonful of that sea salt chocolate nut butter. Holy.wow.

    I think the last couple of days are finally catching up to me… I’ve been going to bed super late and probably not getting enough sleep, so I’m definitely feeling it tonight. It’s a quarter to nine and I’m more than ready to hit the hay. Must.keep.eyes.open….

      My late(r) nights have caught up with me too and this week I’ve been going to bed at 10:00 every night. I’m pretty sure that’s at least a full two hours earlier than all of my male co-workers… πŸ˜‰

  4. You definitely shared some great recipes, especially that ginger smoothie! I am not all that tired right now, but sometimes I will occasionally fall asleep on my train ride in or out of work. Have a great Wednesday πŸ™‚

    • I can’t really fall asleep on the way to/from work because I’m the one driving. Lol. But I definitely feel like it somedays and I’d be just like you with a little nap on the train. That’d be nice… Have you ever missed your stop?

  5. I love this idea πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing all of these with us. I found a great recipe- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp of PB2 mixed together and pair with apple slices as a dipping sauce πŸ™‚ Super easy and still healthy!

      That dip sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing. I used to mix pb and greek yogurt together with a little chocolate-flavored protein powder and froze it to make homemade fro-yo (when I could still have dairy and peanut butter… πŸ™‚ )

  6. Congrats on your new job and new abode — those are some huge changes, so it’s understandable that you’d be wiped out! Hopefully this weekend will bring some much needed R&R, but in the meantime, it’s perfectly acceptable to hit the hay at 8 p.m. πŸ˜‰ (Once I was in the working world for a while, I started seeing my friends post Facebook statuses about the joys of going to sleep at hours that seem totally preposterous to our younger selves. It’s totally vindicating!)

  8. I’d like to have that mango smoothie and that nut butter, please! They look so good. Instead I’m having soup tonight because it’s freaking cold here.
    Strangest place I fell asleep was my best friend’s couch. Woke up several hours later. What a night.

    • It was freezing last week too. I had to wear pants and a jacket to and from work a few days. Hope it’s warmed up for you!

      That doesn’t sound too strange.. but I’m sure there’s more to the story. Haha.

  9. I THOUGHT that Kabocha pic looked famliar–haha, love that both you and Jessie had it marked. But then again, it’s pancakes…and kabocha…so I can totally see why. And I bet that ice cream is amazing! Cashew-based desserts are sooo good–but man, someone needs to start selling some reasonably priced cashews…

    • Haha. Yep.

      I’ve never made a cashew-based dessert like that ice cream before, but my parents are kind of (try a lot!) addicted to raw cashews so I think I need to make this soon… We get organic cashews for a not-to-bad price at Kroger’s!

    Anyways, yes I’m so tired right now! I’ve no idea where the strangest place I’ve ever fallen asleep is, but apparently once I was so tired that I feel asleep standing up with my head on the bed. I was 5, and I’m still wondering what kind of day I had! Happy Thursday, have a marvelous day! xx

    • Thankfully I almost always read WIAWs after breakfast or during my lunch break so I’m usually not too hungry. πŸ™‚

  12. I sure hope you can catch up on your sleep this weekend since Monday is a big day. You’re going to do great, and I can’t wait to hear all about it.
    I like the combo of WIAW and TT, especially that nutty butter and the ice cream. I wouldn’t say No to that Mango Dream Smoothie either. It sounds right up my alley. I could even take it in the shower with me. πŸ˜‰

    • Haha. From now on, whenever I think of a smoothie I’m going to just assume that some random person (mainly you πŸ™‚ ) will be taking it to drink in the shower… I’m still not quite sure how you manage that without getting it all watery!

      • We have a little shelf in the shower and more than one shower head so I stick my smoothie on the shelf and I only use the one shower head, which is at my shoulder level pointing down (it goes higher, but I like it shoulder level). From there it’s easy and very convenient. By the way, the Hubby had no idea I did that until he read that post. He was mortified. Good to know I can still surprise the man. Confession indeed.
