WIAW: ABC Survey

Howdy! It’s that special time of the week where we all gather together and share our wonderful eats! Today I’m going to again combine two link-ups, Together Tuesdays and What I Ate Wednesdays and intersperse in my post some recipes that I’ve seen from fellow bloggers that I think look share-worthy.

The meat of this post is going to be comprised of that ABC survey that you’ve seen from a gazillion and one other bloggers already. (I’m not going to apologize though because surveys make me happy πŸ™‚ ) Thanks to Alex for tagging me and fueling survey addiction!

together-tuesdays

A- Attached or single?

Single.

B- Best friend?

I have a group of a few really close friends that I’d call my “besties” (if I was one to use that word πŸ˜‰ ). We actually did a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-esque thing this past year where we each had a blue notebook for a week, wrote in it, and then mailed it down the line. We were supposed to do it over the summer too but someone (me) has had it since Memorial Day and I keep on forgetting to write in it and send it. Whoops.

Speaking of best friends, I actually just posted this link in the group my friends and I created on Facebook to stay in touch. I found it via Bean Bytes:

C- Cake or pie?

Why choose? Why don’t you just eat a cherpumple?

Totally kidding. But isn’t that one of the craziest creations you have ever seen? It’s a three layer “cake” with a pie baked into each cake portion.

survey-cherpumple

Apple pie in spice cake. Pumpkin pie in yellow cake. Cherry pie in white cake. (Click picture for link to blog post)

D- Day of choice?

Ummm. Saturday? I won’t think too hard because that’s a tough one.

E- Essential item?

I’m going to be practical here and go with my contacts. I hate wearing glasses because I feel like I’m always looking out of a window and I get headaches whenever I have to wear them for very long. My contacts are my savior. (See glasses picture farther down for another reason- no matter how many times I get them adjusted they just won’t stay on my nose!).

F- Favorite color?

Pink. I also like purple, lime green, teal. Classic girl colors, I know.

G- Gummy bears or worms?

It would have to be sour gummy worms. Those are addicting.

survey-gummy-worms

H- Hometown?

Super small with less than 1000 people. Surrounded by corn fields and farms. Your classic one stop light country town.

I- Indulgence?

This probably makes me a total nerd but the first “indulgence” that popped into my head was books. Go ahead, laugh all you want. I considered posting something classier but I’m trying to keep it real.

happy-herbivore-me-edited

J- January or July?

Definitely July. January is pretty depressing because it’s right after Christmas and the whole month I’m just thinking, “I can’t believe I have to wait another year until December 25.” Oh, and the obvious thought of “It’s cold.”

christmas-morning-snow

K- Kids?

I know that just because the answer to A is “single” doesn’t guarantee that the answer to K is “no.” But there really should be a “If you answered ____ to Question A, then skip question K. Ha πŸ˜‰

L- Life isn’t complete without…?

Love. Happiness.

survey-love-happy

M- Marriage date?

If you answered “single” to A then skip this question. (See? How hard was that?)

survey-single

N- Number of siblings?

One brother. He just turned seventeen about a month ago.

wiaw-bday-cake-light

O- Oranges or apples?

Apples. You can’t make a pie out of an orange. Actually, you probably can, but nothing beats apple pie.

P- Phobias?

I’m sure I have one, but I can’t think of any right off the top of my head. Here’s a good one though:Β Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. A fear of long words.

Q- Quotes?

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” -Eleanor Roosevelt (repeated by Joe from The Princess Diaries πŸ™‚ )

survey-quote

R- Reasons to smile?

It’s almost time for school again! πŸ˜€ (Reason I’m a nerd Numero Dos).

S- Season of choice?

I have such a hard time picking. There are parts that I like about them all!

T- Tag 5 People…

(I just picked bloggers that I hadn’t seen do the survey yet. If I missed you, you are officially “tagged” and if you already did this, consider yourself “untagged”).

Andrea @ Pencils and Pancakes

Anna @ Anna the Apple

Diane @ Life of Di

Rebecca @ Half Baked Bec

Chloe @ My Search for a Healthier Life

Fiona @ Fit Fiona

Jessie @ Jessie Bear What Will You Wear

Meghan @ Clean Eats Fast Feets

U- Unknown fact about me?

I’m super woman!

survey-secret

Bahaha. Or not.

V- Vegetable?

I think I like most vegetables. The only kind that I’ve tried and didn’t particularly like was a radish.

survey-vegetable

But how good do these radish chips look from Clean Eating Veggie Girl? (Click picture to be taken to recipe)

W- Worst habit?

Saying “sorry” all of the time. I apologize out of habit, even when I’m not at fault.

X- X-rays or Ultrasounds?

X-Rays most definitely (at least in my experience so far). I had to have an ultrasound of my bladder and as such wasn’t allowed to use the restroom all day because it had to be “full.” Oh goodness was that fun.

Y- Your favorite food?

Seeing as how this has no other stipulation I am going to go with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

survey-cookie-dough

Homemade chocolate chip cookie dough bites (with peanut butter) from Julianna Bananna! Grain-free, dairy-free and egg-free! (Click on picture to be taken to recipe)

Z- Zodiac sign?

Aries I believe. However I don’t think I really match up with the Aries (March 21-April 19) description. I was actually born 3 weeks early so I’ve always wondered if I was more like a Taurus (April 20-May 20). Can zodiac signs work like that?

  1. OH.MY.GOD. I have NEVER seen anything quite like the “cherpumple”! That looks absolutely insanely ah-mazing! I read the description and was like ‘no way!?!’ I neeeeed to try this!!

    • Isn’t it crazy? I think the three layers may be too much for me, but the idea of just one layer (I’m not sure which one though because they all sound delicious) would be much better. I’ve never made it myself so if you give it a try definitely let me know what you think.

  2. Do you know that pie in a cake actually made me feel a bit queasy looking at it – which is crazy considering I love pie AND cake. But I think, even for me, that would be too much. Why not have a slice of cake then a slice of pie?? Hehe.
I’m with you on the glasses thing. I hate wearing my glasses. I feel sooo unattractive. I rarely weear the outside.
    Thanks for tagging!

    • I’ll admit that that the cherpumple doesn’t look all that appealing to me either. That’s actually the most appetizing picture that I could find too. I’m just amazed at the thought of it. Maybe one layer would be okay?

That’s another reason why I don’t wear glasses. I think I look awful in them. But I decided not to say that because then everyone would comment and say, “Oh you look fine!” However I feel differently πŸ˜›

Sure thing! I hope you haven’t already done the survey. I scanned everyone’s blogs for a few minutes to check and I didn’t think I saw it on yours yet.

  3. I love reading these surveys. A lot of your answers cracked me up. I’ve got no idea what a cherpumple is and I’m a gemini, but I don’t really check my horoscope. Usually I only check it if there’s a horoscope column in the mag I’m reading. Today I linked up to wiaw for the first time. Glad to have found your blog.

    • I’m glad that you love reading surveys because I love filling them out! πŸ™‚

I don’t check my horoscope either. The last time I think was in Spanish class in high school where we had to translate our horoscopes. Lol.

Welcome to WIAW! I’ll have to check out your post for today.

  4. Hahaha ok this put a huge smile on my face πŸ™‚ from the princess diaries reference to the cake pie thing to the journal you guys pass around, i love it! Why couldn’t you identify more with the sign you were supposed to be born in? I think the zodiac is pretty interesting and definitely identify with my sign (libra), but i don’t put a lot of stock in it. I do think horoscopes are fun to read πŸ˜›

    • I think I gave a bad example of an Aries description. Usually they are described as fearless, physical/intense, hasty, and confrontational. Taurus is considered stubborn, but harmonious, conservative and determined. It’s not that I can’t identify with Aries, it’s just that the predictions that I always got when I looked at them were so far out there and something that I would never ever do. Haha.

I feel like going out and renting Princess Diaries right now (especially the second one with Chris Pine πŸ™‚ )!

  5. 1) Thank you so much for linking up! 2) I almost pooped my pants at the cherpumple. Where can I get that and how soon can I have it in my body?! 3) LOVE that Elanor Roosevelt quote and totally stealing that. & 4) Thanks for the tag! I’ll try to do this this weekend πŸ™‚

    • That website is hilarious and also kind of sad. I saw a grilled cheese made out of chocolate chip cookies today, and a twinkie casserole. Some of the food sounds like it would be really good and the rest… Just no.

  6. I’ve been totally dying to make a cherpumple someday – just because it sounds so outlandish! And totally with you on the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. The. Best!

    • So weird but I literally just pressed submit on a comment on your blog. Lol.

From the other comments I’m thinking that maybe three layers is just so crazy… maybe start off small with one layer? Which kind would you pick? I was trying to decide but they all just sound so good!

  7. That cherpumple is seriously the most epic thing I’ve ever seen, and probably one of the only ways I’d be able to enjoy pie… So.much.work though 😯

I’m a capricorn, and while I don’t usually put much attention into zodiac signs, I have to admit that when I read the typical characteristics of my sign, it was kind of creepy how spot on they were…

    • I agree that it seems like a lot of work. Maybe you could buy premade pies and then boxes of cake mix? That would cut down on the time. I’ve already said this a few times in the comments so I feel like a broken record ( πŸ™‚ ) but I’m thinking one layer would be just as delicious!

The thing is that I’ve been told that the description for Aries is spot on for me. Maybe it just depends on where I’m getting it from. A few of the aspects though were a little too spot on for me too though.

    • You’re so sweet πŸ™‚ Radishes are kind of hard for me to digest right now but I will definitely try them steamed when I can eat them again! I just tried them raw so maybe that’s why I didn’t like them.

  8. Oh Lord…that pie/cake..thing. That is just crazy!
Books are definitely a great indulgence! I wouldn’t have thought of them, but whenever I buy one it does feel like a treat. πŸ™‚
    Gross. January. Snow. Gross.
I love this survey and your answers! Surveys are so much fun to fill out, but I also love learning more about the person who did them. I have yet to complete this one, but it’s on my list of things to post…which is huge as of right now… πŸ˜‰

    • I haven’t been reading much lately, but I had just finished a chapter in a new book I started when I filled out this survey so that’s probably why I thought of that first πŸ™‚

Oh no! I would have tagged you in the survey if I had known that you hadn’t done it yet. Sorry 😦

  9. Nice survey! i’m a gemini, but I’m abit scared of reading horoscopes in case they say something bad lol. And I’m with you on apologising for EVERYTHING even when its blatantly not my error!

    • Thankfully my horoscopes whenever I’ve looked have always said something positive! With my mom I say “sorry” whenever something bad has happened or she’s upset and then she says “It’s not your fault.” And then I always reply back “I didn’t think it was my fault, I’m just sorry it happened.” Lol. Multiple meanings of sorry I guess πŸ™‚

  10. Cherpumple. I think you just changed my life with one word. Now comes the debate of whether it’s wonderful or tastes like crap. Maybe both.

As for the marriage date, that one confused me when I was doing a post like this. I was so stupid that I thought it was like a date for married people not the DAY they got married. Gosh, I’m an idiot!

    • I think it would taste wonderful, but maybe if you got a bite of both cherry and pumpkin or apple and chocolate it might taste a little weird.

Haha. That’s funny. I’ve misread the questions on surveys a few times before too and then when I’ve gone back and reread the original survey I realize my error and edit my post real quick πŸ˜›

  11. Yay, I’m so glad you did (and hopefully enjoyed πŸ™‚ ) the survey!
Omg that cherpumple is insane! It sounds pretty interesting as in it might be awesome or it might be awful haha. It looks like a lot of work though so I probably wouldn’t have the patience to ever make one!
We have a lot of similar answers! Gummy worms, apples, and January being the absolute worst because it means Christmas is over 😦 😦 Speaking of Christmas, the season will be here it just over four months!!!!!! Obviously, I’m excited already πŸ˜€
Oh and I say sorry all the time too…

    • I did enjoy it! Thanks again for tagging me πŸ™‚

I agree that the cherpumple could go either way. However none of the flavor combinations themselves are too far out there so it in theory should be delicious.

Your comment just made me incredibly happy. I hadn’t even thought of that but you’re right! We’re less than half way to Christmas!!

  12. I don’t think there is anything wrong with your indulgence being books. The amount of money I spend on books it’s ridiculous every year. I know my course demands it but still it’s a hobby of mine and costs me way too much. Think I need to start visiting the library, but there’s nothing better than the smell of a new book!

    • Me too! For both personal use and school. I think I just forked out 600-700 dollars for my textbooks this semester alone 😦

I try to visit the library too, but I’m one of those weirdos that loves to reread books, so having them on my shelf is so nice! Especially Harry Potter. I just have the need some nights to pick up the seventh book and do an hour or two “speed read” where I skim through the entire thing. Lol.

  13. Aw thanks for tagging me love. It has been a very long time since I’ve done a survey…
I know everyone is all excited about the cherpumple, but the very idea offends me. You can have cake, or you can have pie but to combine them all up into one does a disservice to both. How can you appreciate the flavors? Humph.
I like that books are your indulgence; that might be my answer too. Sadly, I don’t get enough time with that particular indulgence and I need to change that.
Much like you, I’m a fan of all the seasons, which is partially why I like living in Ohio. We get to experience them all. I hope you’re having a great weekend.

    • I think this survey would be a great way to bust your so called writer’s block. Not that I don’t believe you, but even with your less wordy posts I’m still enthralled πŸ˜‰ Haha. Your response to the cherpumple is quite funny. I feel that way about things like macaroni and cheese. I just don’t think it’s meant to be combined/topped with other stuff.

I’m trying to cram as much reading as possible into the last few weeks (actually, just one week now! Eep!) of summer.

We really do get the best of both worlds!

      • I need to cram some reading in; I’m so behind on well, sort of everything. It bothers me a little bit; it doesn’t stress me, but I sure would like to be “caught up.” I have all these books, magazines, blogs, newspaper articles and random links of things people send me because they think I’d enjoy it. I’m guessing I would too, if I actually found the time to read it. Oh well, one day.
Just yesterday I went in and copied this survey so I could start working on it; mainly because you were the one who tagged me. The writer’s block is weird and it’s predominantly limited to the CSA veggies. Oh well. What are you gonna do?! It’ll work itself out I suspect. I hope…
        enjoy your weekend.

  14. Such a fun post! I’ve loved reading all these facts about you. Really made me smile πŸ˜€
I didn’t know that other people get that ‘windows’ in front of their eyes feeling too when they wear glasses. It’s horrible! Thank goodness contacts were invented! πŸ˜‰
