GRRR. So I was seriously hoping that I was going to be wrong with this whole buried-underneath-the-rubbles-that-are-midterms. Will someone come pull me up?
And bring a forklift.
Or a shovel.
Both would suffice.
Umm… Moving on.
A good blogger would push through and write up a fantastic post (or better yet plan in advance and have one all ready to go). Today I am not that blogger though and while I have a few recipes that I would love to share, I really don’t want to worry about getting all of the formatting and picture editing perfect. And you wouldn’t want me to forget an essential ingredient like the flour that holds everything together, right?
I thought so.
Instead, I’m going to let the spotlight shine on some bloggers who DO have their act together with another Friday Food Finds!
You can read all about Friday Food Finds and my past posts here:

Cashew Caramel Apples
For some reason growing up I only ever ate caramel apples in public at the fair. This would have saved a lot of teeth-picking embarrassment.
Blueberry Muffin Bites
Blueberry muffins are my favorite type of muffin ever. A no bake, healthy version that is quick and easy is a dream come true.
Homemade Twix Bars
I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of Twix candy bars, but I know some people in my family who would love to have me make this for them.
Chocolate Bark
This how-to is super fast and simple. It’s also really customizable so you can include whatever add-ins you want.
And… here are some links that I think you should check out as well!
5 Ways to Deal with Fat Days
There’s no denying that we all have them, so we might as well learn to get through them with the least amount of tears as possible.
Masking Issues with Macros
This has been on my mind a lot lately. I won’t say which way I am on the subject right now, but I love the discussion going on.
Why I Stopped Posting Recipes
You know me and my love for recipes; however, I think this post is great in getting us to think about why we post what we do.
How We Are Adjusting
No matter what stage of life you are in, this post is a must-read on why communication is so important.
Think Before You Judge
We all need to do this.
Also, just because I want to make you smile, these are my top Buzzfeed reads of the week!
“Brides Throwing Cats” Is The Wedding Tumblr You Didn’t Know You Needed
My favorite professor, being a cat-lover, posted this link of Facebook.

Giles just always knew the right things to say and how to say them as intelligently as possible.
The Guy Who Did Rebecca Black’s “Friday” Made A New Song Called “Chinese Food” And It’s So Embarrassing
I love Chinese Food as much as the next person and even I can’t stand watching this video (the Panda Bear is just too much to take).
This Is The Most Over-The-Top Wedding Proposal Of All Time Ever
While I had to fast forward through a few parts because of the above mentioned midterm studying, I still teared up. Future husband take note.
Five minutes until my blogging cut off point so I’m going to wrap this up. Look for new recipes next week (I see some more cinnamon roll recipes in the future! 😉 ).
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the cookbook giveaway that I posted on Monday! If you didn’t get the chance yet there are five ways to enter and you have until Sunday night.
Also, I just got permission to share ANOTHER recipe with you all from ANOTHER vegan cookbook (my meat-loving friends may groan, but my allergic foodie friends are probably extremely happy right now 🙂 ). I’m joining forces with BenBella Books once again to share a chocolate chip cookie recipe from Lindsay at the Happy Herbivore’s upcoming cookbook Happy Herbivore Light and Lean. It’s part of her pre-blog tour so no cookbook review yet, but like I said, I do get to share the cookie recipe.
In addition, I’m able to ask Lindsay a few questions which I have to send to her by Monday. To make the interview more interesting I’d like to get your input on what you want to know! Everything is fair game and I will pick a few to have answered. Thanks a ton! 😀
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
No questions for today except for those coming from YOU on what you want me to ask Lindsay.
And let me know what you think about all of the links I shared today!
Ahh…good luck with your exams! I remember how stressful it is. It feels like you cross one thing off of your list, only to have 3 more added on. It’ll pass! Just keep your head up as best you can and make sure you get enough sleep 🙂
Also…I now want to get married (again), so that I can be a cat throwing bride! 😀
Stressful was certainly the best word to describe that week! Glad it’s over now. Although it’s not calmed down as much as I would have liked. Haha. Just now beginning to catch up on sleep 🙂
Thank you so much for linking to my post!!!
Sure Kaila! It was great 🙂
I’m glad you like the blueberry bites:)
I loved that post from Katie on communication too. Her honesty is so touching!
I haven’t had a chance to make them yet, but they haven’t left my mind 🙂
Katie’s story was actually a little hard for me to read because of HOW true it really was… I had quite a few self-reflecting moments while reading it. But you’re right- her honesty is refreshing and I really appreciated it!
I remember those days of midterms. I don’t miss that in college at all. I loved that proposal, it was so cute.
I think I will feel the exact same as you when I’m out of school 🙂
You and me both. Urghhhhh.
I was this close to watching that youtube video, but I can’t. I hated the Friday one and if this one is worse. No dice. And lol at that tumblr…throwing cats. What will be next?
Oh yes- I hope all of your school stuff went off without trouble!
I watched the video purely because I needed a laugh at the time. I laughed in the beginning and then it just wasn’t funny anymore. The cats were much more entertaining.
your blog is my favorite. I have to leave the house in 5 minutes and I don’t have time for all it’s awesomeness.
Although you can’t tell from my late response…. 😉 …. This comment truly did make me smile and makes blogging SO worth it. So thank you!
Hope it’s going ok. It’ll be over soon!!
I’ve never heard of cashew caramel apples. But they sound AMAZING. I’ve only ever had toffee apples. I’m always disappointed at how rubbish the actual apple tastes though. Is that weird?
It went by in a flash thank goodness. Well, looking back now it seems like it did. During the week of exams though, not so much 😦
Cashew caramel apples are new to me too! I’ve only ever had just plain caramel apples before. The apples really don’t taste as well though. I’d never thought about it before but I agree completely. I wonder if the apple just doesn’t taste as sweet compared to the topping? Or they just think they can get away with subpar apples? Lol.
So much to read and think about Madison 🙂
Hope your workload begins to ease super soon! Can’t wait to see your new vegan recipe 🙂
Thank you Claire! 🙂
Still think it’s a great post 🙂 thank you for sharing the bark! Mid-terms are pretty sucky but you can do it and it gets better. Have a great weekend girly xo
Of course! I really like the idea of adding in different things like nuts and dried fruit.
Thank goodness that week is over! Not that my teachers act like they realize midterms are done though. Haha. We are still being bombarded with quizzes and reports!
Thank you so much for sharing my post; I truly appreciate that! Good luck with your midterms; you are smart and capable, and I know you can get through them:) I am looking forward to the upcoming recipe!
And thank YOU for writing such great, thought-provoking posts.
Also thanks for this comment of support! Much needed during that week of midterms.
Good luck with your exams. Say a prayer — you’ll get through them. I love all the links you shared. What delicious treats, forthcoming discussions, and fun kitties. 🙂
Many prayers were said Kathleen, trust me 😉
I am totally having a fat day today (but I think it’s due to the very fat tights I am wearing) haha.
Tight pants are good at that, aren’t they? I have a few like that in my closet and only pull them out when all of my others need to be washed. Haha.
If you find a forklift please bring one over to my house..school and work is a little overwhelming. At least it is Friday!! 🙂
I say we split the forklift costs down the middle 😉 I hope your school and work has slowed down a bit!
Great roundup! I hope your midterms went/go well, and that you can enjoy your weekend!
Thanks Olivia! I hope your teaching is going well as well.
THanks for the link love, lady! AND for posting that Twix bar recipe. Twix was actually my favourite candy bar back before they slapped the allergy warning on it, so I’d love to be able to make some at home.
Good luck with your studies/exams!
Urgh to those allergy warnings… So unhelpful. And helpful at the same time. Haha.
So many wonderful links, so little time. At least I don’t have mid terms to deal with, although I’m currently on a cooking frenzy for the man who does. Very much like your family, I want you to make those homemade Twix bars and then let me come taste test them.
Good luck with your studies. Just think in a week, you’ll be living the good life and taking it easy. For a short time anyway.
I hope your husband’s midterms went alright! I’m sure the brain food was a welcomed distraction in study breaks.
You predicted it precisely. Lol. Two days of “easy” and then it was like midterms never happened and my teachers were back at it.
Hope this finds you taking some well deserved time off from those crazy amounts of studying (that is not something I miss about school for sure, though I feel your pain having just taken the test I’ve been studying for for months on Friday!)
Moving on you shared some amazing treats and some even more amazing sounding posts, good thing I set aside a bit chunk of time to catch up on all my reading tonight because you just gave me so much more good stuff to dig into 🙂
I hope you are keeping your head up as you make your way through, and seriously treating yourself to a little love when you’re done!
Congratulations again on passing that big test! At least mine were relatively small in comparison.
I’m glad that you liked some of the posts that I shared. I spent a lot of my breaks in between studying reading those 🙂
Not much down time after the exams but I’ve definitely taken your advice and “treated” myself to some more sleep. Lol.
Oh my goodness all that food looks amazing. Homemade Twix bars sounds like Satan in the kitchen. (Meaning that I’ll succumb to temptation and eat all of them. SO good!) I hope you had a marvelous weekend!
Haha. Your comment about Satan was totally unexpected and brilliant. I hope you had a great weekend too Katherine!
