Before getting into today’s post I just want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts on Friday’s post. It means a bunch to me.

Right now I am riding a holiday high. Even though I am up to my eyeballs in tests, reports and presentations (3 in one class for example), the thought of Thanksgiving being only just over one week away is keeping me going. Then after that there’s only one month until Christmas. CHRISTMAS.

Just the word evokes a smile and the image of a million twinkling bulbs on a tall green tree. You know that feeling, don’t you?

Well, right now I am kind of in a positive mood, very unusual for a Sunday night, so I decided to skip any serious posts for the moment and instead update you all on some of my favorite things currently. Edition #3.

Current Book: Bitter Kingdom. The third book in Rae Carson’s series that I mentioned a few weeks ago. I actually went to a book fair recently and got to meet her in person so that she could sign my copy!

Current Music: All things Christmas. All the time. Scotty McCreery’s album in particular though. He has such an amazing low voice.

Current Guilty Pleasure: Facebook and Blog stalking. So thrilling, I know.

Current Nail Color: Does orange and yellow count from where my squash stained them? πŸ˜‰

Current Drink: Water from my Brita Pitcher. No nasty city water for me.

Current Food: Same old, same old.

Current TV Show: Arrow, and Nashville.

Current Wish List: So many things… Right now though I’ve been looking for some local doctors as I’m getting the courage to visit one again and see if a different perspective has any new insights.

Time travelling is NOT on my list of requirements though for potential picks…

Current Need: Thanksgiving break.

Current Triumph: Making a dent in my homework. I didn’t finish as much as I would have wished, but certainly more than I expected being that my weekend was full of tempting distractions.

Current Bane of my Existence: Teachers who think we only have one class.

Current Celebrity Crush: Leonardo DiCaprio will always remain #1 for me, however I should probably diversify some. I’m kind of crushing on Josh Hutcherson right now. Watching his interviews he just seems tp have his act together. Pretty refreshing.

Current Indulgence: Cinnamon. Ya. I bought some at the grocery store this week and kind of have been sprinkling insane amounts on my food. I probably should stop because my stomach doesn’t seem to be dealing well. It’s just so good though!

Current Blessing: My parents for giving the gentle (and sometimes not so gentle) nudges to do things that I know I need, but do not want, to do.

Current Slang: Oh goodness. Not really slang. Almost the opposite of slang in that it makes me sound like an old granny.

Current Outfit: Blue Adidas athletic pants and a Minions t-shirt. (Remind me to take a picture and show you!)

Current Excitement: Catching Fire this weekend with my best friend!

Current Mood: Worn out.

Current Link: Recipe Redux. Among many.

And today I’m linking up with Katie at Healthy Diva Eats for Marvelous in my Monday!

Questions for you:

  1. Hey buddy! Glad I deleted you and readded you to my bloglovin- back to normal reading time πŸ˜‰

First things first….I’m going to make puppy chow lol! We don’t have chex cereal but I’ll find a suitable substitute..hopefully. Is Nashville worth getting into? I need a new TV series and Arrow bored me to tears! Even though we don’t celebrate thanksgiving here, I made a thanksgiving recipe. *vicariously living through all of you!*

    • Really? That worked? may need to try that with some of the blogs that don’t show up in my Bloglovin for a few hours or days too.

You definitely need to try puppy chow. No chex cereal though? 😦 Well, let me know if you can’t find a good alternative and I will be more than happy to send you some in the name of food πŸ˜‰

I can’t believe that you don’t like Arrow though. Boring?! To each their own I guess. Nashville is pretty dramatic, but I don’t know if you would like it. My parents don’t really. What kind of shows do you like/watch usually? Other than Breaking Amish (haha. that was you who watched that, right? πŸ˜€ ).

Rock on with the Thanksgiving recipes Arman!

      • Its really annoying but thats the only way I’ve found it to work..but ironically I now have a method of checking my favourite bloggers nayway so I won’t miss out πŸ˜‰

Random q, but what kind of cereal is chex? Thats such a generic question but when I go to the supermarket I kind of want to know what sort of style to look out for!

Arrow I think its moreso because I’ve never been into that kind of series- movies thats another thing (HP, Narnia etc). I love reality but not trash reality- I LOVE the apprentice (I think I’ve watched all the apprentice from every country- except Australia. We suck at TV) and if I’m desperate I won’t say no to Top model. πŸ˜‰

    • Chex cereal is square and is like a hollow weave of grains with an air pocket inside (if that makes any sense). It has many versions like wheat, corn and rice.

I actually pinned some new recipes to my board using alternative cereals like cheerios or crispix!

  2. I so need to get my hands on that book, so cool you got to meet the author πŸ™‚

Lol ah facebook stalking what a good way to pass time!

I have booked in Catching Fire for a few weeks time and I am so excited I CAN’T wait!!

    So not ready for christmas!

    • I just wish that I had had the nerve to ask her some questions about the book!

Did you read The Hunger Games series too?

Not ready for Christmas? Who are you? Lol. Just kidding. I kind of feel the same way in the sense that I have a lot to do to prepare, and once it’s over, I have to wait a whole other 365 to do it again 😦

      • did I read Hunger games?!?!? Umm hell YES!!! I just finished reading The Match series which is sort of similar to hunger games but more romancey than action packed but still good.

Ok so confession time…in order to catch up get ready for christmas I nearly bought a $100 free standing reindeer….ok real confession time it wasn’t to catch up on christmas shopping it was just because it was so darn cute. Lucky I didn’t buy it but I still kind of want to!

  3. Besides all the [unnecessary[ school workout you got on your plate, it’s good to see you doing so well. I was always iffy when it came to Scott McCreery, but I do love his Christmas music. Please tell me that you agree him & Lauren Alaina should date??

Thanksgiving: not so much since I’ll be all alone until Joshua gets home from work around six – Christmas: of course!

  4. current need thanksgiving break couldn’t be more true, holy goodness I need it. I have to say – I can’t even think about christmas though yet. I am the grinch when it comes to christmas, I won’t do anything remotely christmas-y until at least two weeks before

Pretty much like my favorite show right now. Stephen Amell = so freaking hot. Just sayin πŸ˜‰
And that’s super awesome that you went back for an autograph by the author! Man I would love to be able to do that for some of my favorite books. There are just some books that I literally re-read several times a year becomes I love them SO MUCH!
And while I cant listen to Christmas music till AFTER Turkey Day, Scotty could probably make me re-think that tradition πŸ˜‰ Love his voice!

  6. Me me me! Definitely ready for the holidays and all the fun that that brings πŸ™‚ Currently I’m reading Running and Being (nerd book for runners…obviously loving it πŸ˜‰ ), drinking tea, eating an apple, and praying the boys sleep for hours yet, so I can enjoy the quiet, read some blogs, and get some pictures together for my next post πŸ˜‰ Have a great rest of your Monday, love!

  7. I can’t even handle all the exciting things in the weeks to come!! Catching Fire, The Hobbit, Despicable Me 2 on DVD, snowboarding, the start of the holiday season (and decorating!!), Christmas…. Oooomigosh. Talk about being giddy. I’m trying to hold off on decorating for Christmas until at least December, but I have a feeling that I’ll probably end up caving an d doing it sooner. I mean, it’s the best time of the he year — why not enjoy it as long as possible? πŸ˜€

  8. “Current Bane of my Existence: Teachers who think we only have one class.” <- Omg, do I remember those days! What IS it with the God complex these people get?! You're not the only one!! And I love that meme about breakfast vs dinner! Hahaha! So true!

Ok, I have to confess that when I read how soon it is to Thanksgiving and then Christmas, my heart kinda sunk a bit. I can't believe this year is almost over! Where did it go?!

On a serious note, I meant to mention in my comment on your last post that while you may feel discouraged at times, I think you are doing a great job coping with your allergies and looking for ways to make food fun when you can. Good luck with finding a new doctor…fingers crossed that you can get some good news on that front! πŸ™‚

  9. I have been totally MIA lately and just caught up reading! Looks like you have been busy–and can we all just carry around that sign to teachers 😐 seriously.
I love Arrow too, the double stories (with him being on the island and then being the hood) is really what captures my attention. I am also really loving Sleepy Hallow!!
Ooo so excited to go see Catching Fire-you must let me know what your thoughts are afterwards!
Finally I am so excited for the holiday, especially since we get some days off of school/work πŸ™‚

  10. I am soooooooo ready for Thanksgiving! And without the stresses of school work (just application essays!!), I’m even excited about the holidays!

  11. I am so with you on listening to Christmas music all the time. My friends and family actually limit me, saying I can only do it after Thanksgiving until the end of the year, since I want to sing them every day! My response? Aren’t we supposed to keep the spirit of Christmas with us throughout the year! So I keep going. πŸ˜‰

  12. SO excited about Catching Fire. I saw a trailer for it at the cinema when I went to see Gravity. OMG I want to see it pronto! And The Hobbit. And Anchorman 2. So many good films.
I am so not ready for Christmas. I can’t see past the marathon which is a few days before… I know I really should be planning though because my parents and Ben’s parents are coming round for dinner!!

  13. I remember how AMAZING it felt when the holidays were SOOOOO CLOSE when I was in school. I ADORE Thanksgiving more than life itself but I just hate how I would have to go back to school… AKA: FINALS – now XMAS is the BEST because you’re DONE with the semester and you don’t have anything LOOMING!!! πŸ˜€

Now I have to go back and read your Friday post!! I hope everything is ok!

  14. I’m with ya on needing Thanksgiving break πŸ™‚ I seriously cannot wait. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I mean, I love the Christmas season and traditions but when comparing both of the days (and my family celebrations on each day), I think Thanksgiving wins!

  15. Girl, I am freaking WORN OUT too, so I understand. I am ready for Thanksgiving as well. I love that picture about breakfast and dinner. I literally did eat the same thing for breakfast for like…three years, but I’d never consider doing that for dinner. I wonder why that is!

Let me know what you think. Leave a reply!
