It’s 2:30 Somewhere (WIAW)

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement on my Friday and Monday posts. Your support, advice, and kind words are much appreciated.

Now, today is the first Wednesday of March and thus we have a new WIAW theme!

However, I’m going to pick up all of the lovely greenness next week and go on with my original plan. A recipe round-up!

Last week I asked my fellow WIAW-ers to share their favorite vegetable recipes and as you can tell below, you guys definitely delivered.

And now for the title of this post… I bet you were all wondering about that one, am I right?

Ha. I love corny jokes.

Yes, I went to the dentist yesterday. Fortunately it was just a routine appointment; however, I ended up being there for about an hour (twice as long as normal) because I had to get three sealants touched up. Got to prevent those cavities! I’ve already had enough drilling in my mouth for a lifetime.

One of my best friends also is having to go to the dentist this week, except her’s is an oral surgeon. Wisdom teeth. Ugh.

I’ve already had my wisdom teeth removed, but I wouldn’t wish that on anybody over their Spring Break. Please say your prayers for her that everything goes alright!

Continuing on with the tooth theme, in my business lab I have a group project involving researching Oral-B Toothbrushes and thinking of new innovations that the company could make to their product. One part of market research is interviewing customers. Remember how I told you how awesome you all were? Well, I need some help.

We are not legally allowed to enter a grocery store and ask consumers questions about their products, so I am pleading asking you to fill out the survey that my group has created. If you are kind enough to fill out the survey, you can either reply in the comments section with your answers, or you can email me at alleyhays [at] gmail [dot] com. No… my name is not alley… That is a story for another day folks.

And your reward for being so awesome and helping me out with my school project? Check back later this week for two new recipes. Two.

To conclude this WIAW post, I leave you with some more wisdom teeth humor.

If you haven’t already seen this video, you must, really:

Nothing is complete without a creepy cat meme.

Hope you have a happy Wednesday!

What is your favorite corny joke?

Have you ever had your wisdom teeth taken out?

Will you be super nice and take the survey for my business class?

  1. Cheesy garlic cauliflower bread?? Oh man, now that is a recipe I really need to make once I get back from the states… I really should write it down now so I don’t forget!

  2. I love cheesy garlic cauliflower bread! I made it once and it came out really good! The chocolate pizza looked delicious…. Love all these randoms 🙂

    • I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with your wisdom teeth. I didn’t get any infections but I had some serious swelling and bruising. I can still kind of feel the holes too, even though it’s been awhile! At least ice cream is considered a friendly food for surgeries!

  3. I love corny jokes. I grew up watching America’s Funniest home videos, so I can laugh at some of the stupid stuff 🙂 Def had my wisdom teeth out and I looked like a chipmunk loud and proud! Took the survey 🙂

    That food looks so good!

    • Glad I’m not the only one with a love of corny jokes 🙂 AFHV videos was hilarious!! Chipmunk. Haha. I can totally relate— I had a block head. So much swelling and bruising!

And thanks so much for taking the survey. I’m so appreciative!!!! 😀

    • Happy WIAW! 🙂 Thanks so much for taking the survey! I’m so thankful for all of you who filled it out.

And your cheesy bread seems to be quite popular today. Totally deserved because it sounds delicious.

  4. Nice round-up of veggie posts! Going to the dentist is awful – I’ve becoming quite friendly with my oral surgeon since my TMJ has been acting up again. I’ve never had my wisdom teeth pulled, but they’re recommending surgery for this problem. I think I’d rather have 4 teeth pulled! I’ll fill out your survey tonight – be on the lookout =)

    • I hope you get everything worked out with your teeth. The surgery wasn’t really that bad for me personally. It just wasn’t very pretty or fun. I’ve never had my teeth pulled before, so I would have to say that I’d rather be asleep when anything remotely painful occurs in my mouth. Haha.

I’ll be on the lookout for your answers to my survey. I’m so grateful that you are taking the time to fill it out. Too kind! 🙂

  5. Those recipes look delic – especially the sweet potato, carrot, and quinoa and the cheesy cauliflower 😛 I had my wisdom teeth taken out in high school and it was awful – all 4 of mine were impacted so the dentist had to crush them in order to extract them… I was not the best patient either, my momma loves sharing the story about how I took the gauze out and was walking around with blood dripping down my face… I had no clue since I was zonked out from the pain killers!

    • Oh man. That doesn’t sound good. I’m lucky that mine weren’t impacted and were pretty easy to remove. Crushing them sounds incredibly painful.

I had such a hard time eating with the numb face. About 1 of 3 bites made into my mouth the days following my surgery. Haha. No blood though! 😉

  6. I loathe the dentist, my wisdom teeth were taken out when I was 16 and I have no recollection of that week…they kept me drugged for most of it 😉 And I’m filling out this survey now! Oh and book marking the cheesy cauliflower bread…too intrigued not to try that one

    • I’m trying to even remember how long ago I got my wisdom teeth removed… And it was only a year or two ago. I didn’t take any drugs other than the ones that they gave me when I was put to sleep. Lol. I hate feeling loopy. 🙂

You are so awesome! Really! Thanks for taking the time to fill out the survey!

I hope you get the chance to try the cheesy bread. Doesn’t it sound delicious?

  7. Those pictures with the corny jokes cracked me up! I needed that. I am not a huge fan of the dentist, but I got over my fears pretty young because I figure it can only get better. Having my wisdom teeth out when I was 14 was ridiculously traumatic. Anything has been a freaking picnic in comparison.

    • Glad you liked the corny jokes. They really do make my day brighter 🙂

I actually like going to the dentist, and even the doctor for that matter. Haha, but your perspective is spot on. A freaking picnic for sure when comparing wisdom teeth surgery to a regular appointment.

  8. Ugh I just had my first cavity filled today – speaking of the dentist! The good news is that it had nothing to do with what I was eating, just anatomy. But good luck to your friend!
I am so excited you posted all of those cauliflower recipes! Although I might not get around to trying some out over break like I had thought, I’m definitely going to pin some of them! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    • I got two cavities from having braces, but thankfully they weren’t anywhere noticeable. The pain from the shots wasn’t really unbearable, I just didn’t like the numb feeling.

I have so many recipes that I want to try over break, so I totally understand not having enough time to try them all. Thank goodness for Pinterest!

  9. Cat memes are the best, and I want to know what those cracker/cookie things are. I’m fascinated. I’m going to bookmark this link, and I’ll do the survey this weekend. Hope you are enjoying your time off, and thanks for all the link love (I need to get some better photos for my cauliflower recipes; oh well, next time I make them).

    • Cat memes are pretty great. And you’ll have the recipe soon!

Thanks so much for taking the survey. I’ll look forward to your answers. This is so helpful for my business class. I’m so lucky that all of you are willing to take the survey!

I think the recipe pictures look great! But, if you do make them again, I can replace the pictures if you want 🙂

  10. Ok, HOW sad is it that it took me like a whole MINUTE to get that Tooth Hurty joke?! Omg, I’m so slow! And that video…the thumb war? Seriously, I’m dying over here! Lol But seriously, I had my wisdom teeth out and that is no joke…especially when you have complications like I did and have to go back to the office every other day to get your gums packed with gauze! Ugh! :-/

Soooo, who invited the orange food to the cauliflower party, huh? 😉 And I can TOTALLY vouch for Meghan’s soup…omg, YUM!!

    • Haha. Not sad at all. Sometimes I’ll come back to a pin later and FINALLY realize what the joke was about. And that video. I just died when I saw it too…. Like that laughing so hard that no sound comes out? Yep, that’s me 😀

Definitely no joke about the wisdom teeth. That sounds painful!

  11. Dang, there are so many lovely recipes to try, I might actually EAT that cauliflower in my fridge now, lol. Seriously, sometimes you just need some inspiration. I mean I could always just EAT the cauliflower like I planned. Spicy and Indian style, but ohhh some of those recipes, especially the garlic “bread” look so good…. erghhh!!

So glad I stopped by! Have a great day girl 🙂
P.s. After coming back from an extended blogging break, I’ve started a 40 day challenge to get HEALTHY by my birthday. If you get a chance to check it out, I could sure use the support!
    Hugs, Bella 🙂
