Coming Soon to a Blog Near You

Is is possible to fail a dentist appointment? After my one hour stint in the dentist’s chair today I am convinced that the answer to that question is in fact yes.

I was pretty positive that after my dental hygienist got through with my gums there would be nothing left. While I may have jumped to conclusions a little too quickly, can you really blame me when every mouth swish into the sink was red with blood, and every prick of her little tools tickled my tear ducts like a sappy tragic movie?

Still, it was a really nice feeling to walk out of the dentist’s office with a plan of action. The next time that I visit I will be a prime patient. No bleeding gums or tears here! This is the list of things that I am going to work on: use a softer toothbrush, work on my brush angling, floss regularly, and drink only filtered water (no more nasty chemical water from my school!).

So that’s basically how my first morning of Fall break went for me today. Very promising.

Instead of sharing another cinnamon roll recipe with you guys today (I bet you are very disappointed on that account because it’s not like I haven’t posted a cinnamon roll recipe with you before…), I am going to give a preview of what’s coming soon to a blog near you 😉

1. Cinnamon Roll Recipe. Duh.

As I mentioned on Wednesday, today I made the decision on what magazines that I am going to subscribe to. My final picks were Eating Well, Fitness, Food Network and Entertainment Weekly. Food Network wasn’t available via my brother’s fundraiser at school so I will need to do that separately (but I’m so excited– thanks for the suggestion Heather!)

Thanks to everyone who left a comment with their suggestions. I looked into each and every one of them. My local library has a sale every few months so I think next time I will have to pick up some back issues of the ones that I didn’t choose. They all sounded so good!

How do you achieve an *A* at the dentist?

  1. I have to say I don’t always achieve an A at the dentist. I’ve battled bleeding gums for what seems forever, even though I floss daily and have learned to not brush as hard. It’s gotten better, but every time I go to the dentist, he still gives me a lecture!

I can’t wait to see your cinnamon roll recipe and your vegan chocolate cake looks amazing!

  2. one of my best friends is a dental hygienist and when U go to see her she tells me off for not flossing… when I travelled with her I had to floss every night but once back home I never did oops..

Can’t wait for those recipes, and I bet Amy (littlehoneybee) will enjoy seeing the one without coconut flour!

Never heard of that cookbook- looking forward to the review on Monday!

  3. Ah damn I should really go to the dentist…I haven’t been in over a year!! But my teeth tend to be ok. Fingers crossed!! haha.
Loving all those recipes. Sound amazing.
The magazines look like a good choice. I like a foodie magazine, movie magazine, running magazine and fitness in general magazine. But not all at once otherwise I get told off from the husband. Apparently we also need to pay for things like food and electricty…pft!

  4. Ouch on that dentist appointment, that does not sound fun at all! The plan of action sounds like a good one, bet you’ll be star patient next time Madison!
All this food looks super good, I just want to eat everything!

  5. I’m still a bit afraid of going to the dentist. When I was a kid I literally ran away from the dentist and had to be carried back to the ‘chair of torture’ by my dad. Everything looks so yummy, particularly the chocolate cake, really can’t wait for the recipe. Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Still loving the cinnamon roll picture.
I have no dental advice other than to floss often and use a soft toothbrush.
I think Heather told me once you can use the whole egg, but just do less of them. So instead of two whites, do one whole egg. Don’t quote me on that though.
    Enjoy your fall break!!

  7. Sounds like a delightful experience. Ugh. So sorry you had to deal with that.
I’m looking forward to those recipes!
Great magazine choices. I get Fitness, too, and love it.
    Have a great weekend!

  8. MMMMM your foodie finds look amazing!!! Butternut squash with egg?!?! Yum! I received your card yesterday and you are TOO KIND!!!!! Can’t wait to write up a review on the blog 🙂

  9. Yay! I’m so glad you’re going with the Food Network Mag as one of your pics…just be warned, you’re going drool over 99% of the pages! Haha! Thanks so much for the link love, lady! And ohh, I really need to get caught up on Meg’s blog…totally missed that egg in a squash! I’ve seen a lot of people do that with avocado, but the only baked egg thing I’ve tried so far was on pizza…and I overcooked it! Yolkporn denied! Womp womp!

I’ve received and A and an F from the dentist! And one time I went and they were all like, “wow you have done such a good job flossing!” and I couldn’t help but giggle to myself because I’d only started when I got the reminder for my appointment two weeks before! Ha!
